Dan, business analyst at Big&Evil consulting firm has done his research. After spending hours and hours behind his Macbook Pro, he concludes that regarding the development of lightspeed space delivery, “all the signs are there”. In an exclusive interview with E&M, he tells us what to expect in a post-COVID world.

“Covid has accelerated existing trends”, says the experienced market researcher, “and our world will likely be fundamentally different as soon as this is over … uh … as soon as we’ve learnt to put up with it”. “One town in Virginia is now using Google drones to deliver bagels, that’s just a stone’s throw away from space delivery”, he continues, as he takes his daily LSD microdose. “SpaceX was also recently launched, so it’s evident that we just need to overcome some market rigidities and technical inefficiencies, and then we’re good to go”.

Dan, after losing his grandmother to covid, immediately recognised the massive innovation potential that the pandemic brings. “The death of my grandmother was a shock, but shocks are excellent growth opportunities. In the end, I was thankful that the synergies between her and COVID gave me that opportunity for personal development”, he tells E&M.

And those aren’t empty words. To discuss current trends related to COVID-19, Dan and his colleagues have launched the “COVID resilience, innovation and growth hub”. The hub has already been very productive and released widely read publications such as “3 steps to making authentic eye contact in zoom calls” and “follow these 142 rules to boost productivity while working remotely”.

However, even for an optimist like Dan, the world isn’t all bright and rosy at the moment. “I do feel for investors” he contends. “Lockdown policies have disrupted stock markets, trillions of wealth have been lost. In fact, my Lockheed Martin and my Tesla shares have dropped significantly, which almost forced me to sell my boat in the Caribbean. I got lucky, but others didn’t, as I have heard from friends and family”.

“Innovation is just so cool – like, one moment the world is like old-fashioned and static, and the next thing you know it’s all like, innovative”

The thought that lightspeed space delivery will be available soon is more than solace to Dan – it has filled his life with new meaning: “Innovation is just so cool – like, one moment the world is like old-fashioned and static, and the next thing you know it’s all like, innovative” he says. “Innovation unlocks growth, and growth unlocks new innovation, and that unlocks new growth, and that unlocks new innovation…”, the tech-savvy Californian exclaims with shiny eyes, “It’s all a beautiful circle!”.

At the end of our talk, Dan invites us to fill out a feedback form evaluating his performance as an interviewee. “I just want to streamline my personal brand”, he tells us, as we award him a 10/10 in the category ‘speaking pace’. “I am a lifelong learner, and any feedback helps me walk the talk.”
