Maria Fedorova is a Russian-French critical theorist, author, and consultant in higher education and social impact, based in France. With over a decade of experience, her research, writing, and curatorial work focus on artists and activists in political performance, particularly examining the relationship between degraded aesthetics in video, distribution mechanisms, and audience perception.
Her current work explores cultural sustainability, investigating the skills, mindset shifts, and critical knowledge necessary for fostering a more inclusive society. Maria’s non-fiction writing has appeared in Temporary Art Review, Maisonneuve, ISEA, UN Academic Impact and other platforms. Her writing explores themes of colonial legacies, immigration, and systemic inequalities.
