  1. How can I apply to work with E&M?
    Please use our online application form.
  2. When can I apply to work with E&M?
    You can apply any time. It will normally take us about two to four weeks to review your application.
  3. Can I apply if I am not from an EU country?
    Yes. You can apply no matter where you are from, no matter where you live. For us, only our own criteria count.
  4. How competitive is applying for E&M?
    At the moment, we accept about 30% of the applications in the contributor scheme and about 5-10% in the editor scheme.
  5. Is the work paid?
    E&M is a completely voluntary project. Nobody gets paid. Nevertheless, many very brilliant people work for E&M. Here are some reasons why.
  6. Will I get any proof of my work for E&M?
    Yes. We issue certificates and work references.
  7. What do the people working for E&M do in their 'normal' lives?
    Most of us are students. We study subjects ranging from rhetoric to informatics/mathematics, and from musicology to economics and politics. Diversity is appreciated.
  8. How will we communicate once I have joined?
    We mainly communicate through email and skype conferences/conversations. However, members of the editorial board meet frequently but irregularly and the most involved contributors will likewise see their editors quite often.

    E&M is a project of ‘Europe of New Ideas’, a charitable organisation headed by the editors of E&M.
